Assumptions and important limitations

Year 1 begins when you start withdrawals. We withdraw the full annual income at the start of each year, limited to the available balance, then apply the annual net return to the remaining balance. From year 2, target income increases with your CPI assumption. Balances and the table are shown in future (nominal) dollars, not today's purchasing power.

Returns and CPI are held constant. Actual markets fluctuate, losses may occur, and the order of returns can materially affect how long savings last. A balance remaining at the end of the selected period does not mean it will last indefinitely.

This model includes no new contributions, Age Pension, other income or assets, minimum pension withdrawal rules, super access rules, transfer balance caps, personal income tax, insurance premiums, one-off expenses or changes in spending. Fees and investment tax are not separately calculated: include their effect in the net return you enter. The target is a withdrawal from super, not a calculated after-tax spending amount.

It does not assess whether a strategy or product is suitable for you. Seek advice about your circumstances before making financial decisions.

WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE JOURNEY

Plan for the stage you are in.

What would you like retirement to look like? The decisions worth exploring depend on your circumstances and timing. Start with the questions that matter to you now.

01

Planning well ahead

Explore how your saving, super and investment decisions relate to the retirement you have in mind.

02

Getting closer

Before retirement, consider when you may stop work, what you expect to spend and how super, investments and other income may support the transition.

03

Already retired

After retirement, review withdrawals, cash reserves and investments as your spending, goals and circumstances change. Your income plan may need to evolve over time.

THE CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER

Bring the moving parts together.

Retirement planning connects the choices you make today with the income and flexibility you may need later. We start by understanding what matters to you, then explain where advice may help.

How do super and investments fit?

Consider your super, investments and cash flow together as your retirement timing and priorities change.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you take the next step.

A first conversation helps clarify what you want to work through and whether advice may be useful.

Is it too early to start planning?

Not necessarily. Whether retirement is many years away or close, we can help identify the decisions that matter now and discuss whether advice is appropriate for you.

Can you help if I am already retired?

Yes. We can talk through how your current income, super and investments relate to your goals as your circumstances evolve. Any recommendations depend on your situation and the agreed scope of advice.

Can retirement advice consider tax?

Where relevant, tax-effective strategies may form part of broader financial advice. We can work alongside your accountant; no particular tax saving is promised.

When will I know the cost?

After the first meeting, we scope the proposed advice and send you a proposal describing the intended services and fees. You can review it before deciding whether to proceed.
